my 40 day challenge

Today is Monday and it is 6:47am. I woke up at 5am today and my goal is to wake up at 4:30 everything for 40 days. Why? For me waking up early morning is not exactly about gaining more hours of the day, but it is about gaining m. Its being in the peace and the tranquility of silence. It is the time when no one is calling, it is the time when everyone sleeps. It is then, when i can hear my thoughts and when i can do what i do the most; writing!

Writing is the one thing I could do for hours, for days, for years. To me, it is so worth my time!    Something happens when I wake up early in the mornings, my days have order. I feel accomplished when I wake up at 4am even if it’s just to drink coffee read or write. It is then, when I get to organize my day in writing. It is that feeling of accomplishment that i look for. I love getting to my office at 8:30am knowing that i did my reading, my writing, my workout, had breakfast and organized my agenda and know exactly what my day should look like. So, why am i doing a 40 day challenge? because 40 is number that has been mentioned 146 times in scriptures, symbolizes a period of testing and trial.

Jesus was tempted by the devil many times during the 40 days and nights he fasted ” Just before his ministry began”

This is exactly what my soul is craving. 40 days of different habits, different thinking. Its a preparation to the next level of your life. Jesus did it before he started his ministry and the people of God did it before entering the promise land. Will it be easy? probably not!  I wouldn’t exactly call it a period of testing and trial even though it is! I would call it preparation time. This is the time to prepare for the next level, because it is time to take it to the new level. It is time to do something different, it is time to conquer your self, because someone said, ” We have met the enemy and he is us” This challenge is not for everyone, in fact is only for those who are determined to not be in the same place a year from now. Personal, spiritual and intellectual growth is a must. If success was easy, everyone would have it, and it is only given to those who are willing to pay the price for it. A pencil weighs more than a shovel. What a great way to explain that it is only paying the price upfront that you get to enjoy your future. If you know what you want, make a plan, write it down and just do it! It really is that simple, we make things more complicated than they actually are.

What is it that you want to achieve and just having been able to because you got in the way?

Is it personal growth? is it to grow your self closer to God?

Loosing weight?

Obtaining a college degree?

Hitting your sales goal?

Obtaining that job promotion?

I could say that almost all of us know and understand exactly what it would take. The question is, are you willing to pay the price? Are you willing to do what it takes to succeed? or are you only wishing that you would have it? you decide and only you because no one can make that decision for you. Even if we could, we could not bring it to pass for you.

You are in your own hands!
